I have been taking a lot of hot salt baths recently to relax and for good health (detoxifying & hydrating skin, stimulating circulation, etc). I have many different US and Japanese bath salts that I have yet to use, so I decided to review each of them to help others looking into bath salts to buy.
Last night I tried out Hugo Naturals Lavender & Vanilla Fizzy Bath Bomb. I had bought it at a natural food store while visiting my parents. I really liked this bath bomb because the scent was not overpowering and I thought the addition of “vanilla” with lavender would be a nice combination. It smelled more of lavender than vanilla, so do not expect too much of a sweet scent. It was nice that this bomb was also moisturizing without being greasy. As soon as I dropped it into the tub, it started to fizz. It really did not add much color to the water, but I liked the milkiness it created.
Some additional things I really liked was that this product is cruelty free, made from 100% natural ingredients (not organic), vegan and free of parabens, sulfates, artificial colors, synthetic fragrances and other ingredients.
A word of caution: If you happen to have low blood pressure, high blood pressure or other health issues, be careful about getting out of the bath right away when you are done. It is best to turn on cold water and let it run to adjust your body temperature. Once you cool down a little, SLOWLY get out. Last night, I got out of the water right away as I always do and felt very dizzy. I actually have low blood pressure and had done this before many times without any problem. It was a bit scary (read stories of people fainting and causing a lot of injury from falling). I had to rest afterwards. Wanted to note this to keep others safe!
